The 53rd Annual Art of the State 2020 opened (virtually) on September 13th. Art of the State is an annual juried exhibition that has been showcasing the work of Pennsylvania’s artists at The State Museum of Pennsylvania since 1968. The exhibit includes 108 works of art from 109 artists, in categories of painting, photography, craft, sculpture, and work on paper. Finalists were selected from 1901 entries from 680 artists.
I am delighted to be accepted into this year’s show! And happily surprised that my work, Sacramentos: Writing Overseas, was awarded 3rd Place in Photography. This piece is part of a series, Sacramentos: Family Moments.
You can read more about the show on the Art of the State 2020 home page.
It includes a link to a 360 Virtual Tour of the exhibition with all of the work curated and installed in the State Museum of PA. “Walk” around and enjoy viewing all of the great art work in the show! Within the virtual tour, my work is in “Area 1”.
I am hopeful that the pandemic restrictions will lift sufficiently to allow in-person viewing of the show.
